Will Boudreau will present this topic at the Fall 2010 New England Oracle Applications User Group.

This session is for Oracle Applications DBA's and Oracle Developers and will start with the project planning requirements and proceed through going live. This discussion will start with hardware and system design, whether to procure new hardware, what needs to be in place prior to starting the upgrade, ensuring the upgrade path is sound, and what it takes to upgrade to R12 from a DBA perspective. 11i Application and Database versions will be assessed as to what challenges occur for each. A review of the currently available versions of R12 and evaluate why one may be better than another. On the technical side, we will discuss customizations and how to upgrade them for R12. This will include new features and requirements of R12 and technology. Techniques for speeding the customization conversions and tips on managing conversions with end users.
